I wanted to welcome you to our community, and share my reasons for starting the business.
As my kids grew up, and my husband retired, I found myself with more time at hand. I decided to turn my passion for pickle making into a business.
My family was quick to show support and with my sister-in-law Uma, I started the business in October 2020.
It took us a few months to set everything up and we started selling in June 2021, after the second wave of COVID went away.
With a team of 10 people, we started making seasonal pickles and chutneys right here in my hometown, Darbhanga in Bihar😇
Within just 4 months of launch, we got the opportunity to go on Shark Tank India!

In the first 9 months of the business, we sold more than Rs. 90 Lakhs of pickles to almost 20,000 families around the country.
During the same time, the business employed more than 25 people who didn't have a good income opportunity.
Over the coming years, there are 3 things I want to accomplish with JhaJi Store,
- Making traditional Mithila savories a household name across India, by reaching 1,00,000 customers by 2023 💗
- Creating meaningful employment for 500+ women in Darbhanga over the period 2021-2023 🙌
- Investing 10% of the business’s profits towards Girl Child Education in Bihar 📘
